Refuge Youth
Refuge Youth
Guiding students to know and delight in God, thrive as His disciples, and live boldly for His glory.
We're thrilled you're here! What makes youth ministry so compelling? Is it the wacky games, incredible trips, or sheer number of cases of pop we crush every year? Don’t get us wrong, those are great, but no. The secret sauce is God. It is experiencing His unmistakable presence with your peers and mentors. The Bible calls the overflow of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control the fruits of the Spirit in a believer’s life. We’re all growing in these fruits, and they shape our youth ministry culture. Our mission is to guide students to know and delight in God, thrive as His disciples, and live boldly for His glory. Wherever you are on your faith journey, you’re welcomed with open arms, free to ask questions, and invited to join in the incredible work God is doing. Come be part of our family!

Our Heartbeat
Seven dimensions of discipleship move us forward into our purpose:
Prayer
We talk with God about everything because He cares about everything.
God’s Word
We let Scripture shape our thoughts, choices, and view of the world.
Community
We follow Jesus together, because that’s God’s design for the Church.
Worship
We respond to who God is with our voices, our choices, and our whole lives.
Service
We use our gifts and time to meet needs and reflect God’s heart.
Outreach
We share the hope of Jesus with those who don’t yet know Him.
Mentorship
We learn from those ahead of us and invest in those behind us.
Our Culture
Our culture is what students experience as we help them know and enjoy God, grow as His disciples, and live for His glory through the dimensions of discipleship. We want students to feel safe, welcomed, loved, encouraged, challenged, called, and equipped for whatever God has for them. We believe that joy is a fruit of the Spirit and one way that God draws us together as a family. So, while we worship, preach the whole counsel of God’s Word, and build each other up, our gatherings are also full of life, laughter, and fun.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are your participation requirements and standards?
At Refuge Church, we value safe and meaningful experiences for our students. By participating in Refuge Youth & Children programs and events, you are acknowledging the following:
- Behavior & Rules: participants are expected to respect leaders, peers, property, and the guidelines provided for each event. If a participant’s behavior becomes unsafe, harmful, or persistently disruptive, leaders may require the participant to be picked up early. Serious or ongoing issues may result in the student being prohibited from future events.
- Photos & Videos: We regularly take photos and videos at events to share the life of our ministry. These may be used in church communications and media. Please let us know if you do not want your child included.
- Emergency Care: In the event of an emergency, leaders will act immediately to ensure your child’s safety and well-being. This may include providing first aid or seeking professional assistance medical attention without delay. Parents/guardians will be contacted as soon as reasonably possible once immediate safety and care have been secured.
- Safety & Responsibility: Our staff and volunteers take reasonable safety precautions; however, participation in events involves inherent risks. Refuge Church, its leaders, and volunteers are not liable for injuries or losses that may occur.
If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s participation, please contact us.
How can we stay informed about ministry opportunities/announcements?
While our regular programming and calendar are available on the website, there are some ways to make sure you have the most up-to-date opportunities, reminders, and announcements (things come up, and events could be added to the calendar):
- Subscribe to our youth Gloo Texting platform by texting “youth” to 833-248-3767 or clicking here & tapping send. No app is required. It is text- based. You’ll get automated responses, but when you text us, the youth ministry staff also receives a notification, and we can follow up with you more specifically as needed. Messages are seen by all youth ministry paid staff and retroactively accessible by senior staff if needed. This platform provides a means for youth and parents to safely communicate with adult staff as needed, with proper checks and balances.
- You can find out what's happening at Refuge Church by reading our weekly e-newsletter. It's called Refuge Life! If you are not currently receiving it, sign up here!
- Follow us on Instagram. We don’t post a lot of pictures, but we do use the story platform as a communication avenue for breaking updates and reminders.
