It's that time of year!

Boxes are available in the Refuge Church foyer starting Sunday, October 29  and must be returned here by noon on Sunday, November 19.

It's as easy as 1-2-3!
1. Simply take an empty box (or 2 or more!) and a label for each box.
2. Fill the box(es) following the directions on the label or visit this site for more information on the process.
3. Return the filled box(es) to the Refuge Church foyer on or before noon on Sunday, November 19.

Each box needs a shipping contribution to ensure it gets to the child it is intended to reach. Your label will help you facilitate this online.

At JAM on November 8 we plan to talk with our K-5th graders and encourage them to have parents take a box home (if they haven't already) and bring it back to Refuge Church on or before noon on Sunday, November 19.

If you are not in the Refuge Church area or you wish to learn more about the program, visit the Samaritan's Purse website section on Operation Christmas Child.

Why do we do this?
Along with their amazing Gospel-driven relief work throughout the world, Samaritan's Purse  uses the Operation Christmas Child program to make inroads for the Gospel through the gift of generosity in the lives of children and families.  The Greatest Journey, a 12 part discipleship program, is offered to the children as part of this program through the local church in their area. Many children and their families have come into a saving relationship with our Lord through this process.

An Inroad to a Missional Life
We also see OCC as a fantastic inroad to missions involvement for our Refuge Church children, families and individuals. We encourage parents of children who are still in the home to fill a box, or several, and encourage their kids to contribute in a sacrificial way to the purchase of the contents and the process of getting the box ready. Include a family picture as well - these are reported by children who receive them to be one of the favorite items in the box! By giving of ourselves, we learn hands-on what it means to love and to serve others in the name of Jesus!
